Thanksgiving is about gathering with family and friends and being thankful for what we have. This year, be thankful for your
local farmers because now there are many more options for locally raised turkeys and meats! Here is a list of 15 places for locally raised turkeys and other meats in Rhode Island!
- Baffoni’s Poultry Farm raises their birds completely cage-free. You can reserve your bird for the holiday season right now. Learn more at their website, http://www.baffonispoultryfarm.com. Baffoni’s Poultry Farm is located at 324 Greenville Avenue in Johnston.
- Blackbird Farm raises livestock on its hundred acre farm, and that includes turkeys, on top of beef and pork. You can learn more information, including info about their cooking classes, at http://blackbirdfarmri.com. Their farm stand is at 660 Douglas Pike in Smithfield.
- Blueberry Lane Farm raises goat, chicken, turkeys, pork, and beef, and is located at 264 Woody Hill Road in Hopkinton. Learn more here.
- Breene Acres is another farm that urges early ordering so you don’t get left out in the cold on the big night. Their farm stand is at 21e Victory Highway in West Greenwich, near the URI Alton Jones Campus. Learn more here.

- Cottrell Homestead has been owned and operated by the Cottrell family since the early 20th century. The farm is located at 500 Waites Corner Road in West Kingston, out near the Kingston Amtrak station. Read more here!
- Masson Farm is a small farm in Wakefield that raises cows, pigs, and turkeys. They’re located right in Wakefield, and you can get a hold of their produce at the URI farmer’s market. Learn more here.
