As the days grow longer and the weather turns warmer, restaurants around the state start to offer outdoor dining. While this is a pleasant experience on any sunny day, it really turns into an amazing experience when the restaurant sits on the water. Below are several local establishments that offer Rhode Island waterfront dining.
For a start, there’s the DeWolf Tavern in Bristol, which serves contemporary American food such, specializing in seafood. Sit on the Bristol Harbor waterfront and enjoy their buttermilk fried guinea hen, tawa seared salmon, or wild mushroom risotto, and wash it down with a glass of wine as you watch the sun set. Or you could stop by Lola’s Tequila Bar and Cantina on South Water Street in Providence. Take a trip through their expansive tequila bar, and see if you can’t find a new favorite. This restaurant sits right above the water, so you can enjoy a drink, a plate of grilled salmon, ahi ensalada or grilled pork tenderloin, and a view of the ProvidenceRiver all at the same time. For a taste of local seafood and a view of Greenwich Cove, check out Finn’s Harborside on Water Street in East Greenwich. Help yourself to stuffed quahogs, steamed little necks brought in fresh from Narragansett Bay, or indulge and try the twelve ounce swordfish steak.
Another fantastic spot is the Fluke Wine Bar and Kitchen on Bowen’s Wharf in Newport. Either indoors or outdoors, you can get a good view of the NewportHarbor with your meal. Since they use fresh seafood, Fluke’s menu is variable, so you can always expect them to serve something new and delicious.
New to the area and positioned to open very soon is the TwoTen Oyster Bar and Grill. They are located right on Salt Pond and offer boat access. Be prepared for fresh local seafood, raw bar, great drinks, incredible atmosphere and so much more!
