A Nuclear Explosion in Rhode Island? And 56 Other Surprising Facts!

Rhode Island is small but simply teeming with surprising facts!  To begin, did you know that there was actually a nuclear explosion in Wood River, RI in 1964?  Kids, sorry but those “cap-guns” are an illegal purchase here in the state.  We also have a local hero, Blake Rodgers, he got the most high-fives in a 24 hours period!  Newport, always on the cutting edge, was actually home to the first circus performance in 1774.

And…although the record has changed …Rhode Island has grown the world’s largest pumpkin several times in the last decade!
