On Friday, June 21st the legendary Buddy Guy and company entertained a near sellout crowd at RI’s newest outdoor venue, Bold Point Park in East Providence. The show kicked off with Samantha Fish, a singer-guitarist-songwriter that has become a rising star in the contemporary blues world. Samantha’s powerful set was a real crowd pleaser.
Next up was the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band. The band put on a fantastic show with amazing guitar work synonymous with Kenny Wayne Shepherd accompanied by his amazing high energy band. A set complete with KWS originals along with some interesting covers.
The show was headlined by blues legend Buddy Guy, and he lived up to his reputation as one of the greatest guitar players and true entertainers. Throughout the show, Buddy Guy mixed in engaging storytelling with his soulful singing and his signature blues guitar playing. At 82, Buddy Guy showed no sign of slowing down, he was amazingly full of life and quite entertaining with his funny jokes and animated performance.
