Now that Summer has officially begun, signaled by schools closing and vacation cottages opening, The General Stanton Inn Flea Market is offering visitors two days of flea market treasure hunting every weekend, until Columbus Day. The 51 year-old, Charlestown Flea Market, also opens on holiday Mondays, including the upcoming Fourth of July Monday, Labor Day Monday and the Columbus Day holiday, Monday, October 10.The General Stanton Inn Flea Market opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 3:30 p.m every day it is open. “Early birds” are welcome, The outdoor Flea Market is located on the seven, tree-shaded acres of The General Joseph Stanton Inn, located at 4115 Old Post Road, Charlestown, 02813.Admission to the Flea Market is free. On Sundays, only, there is a $2. parking fee. Sharing geography with three of Rhode Island’s world-class beaches, The General Stanton Flea Market is renowned for attracting vendors who specialize in nautical antiques and collectibles. The Flea Market also features automotive antiques and collectibles and an ever-changing selection of other American antiques, from Primitives to mid-Century. Other goods offered at the Flea Market include art, crafts, Farmers’ Market and new and boutique items. Among the crafts is jewelry, with some pieces hand-made as visitors watch.
Interested vendors can still reserve sales spaces at The General Stanton Inn Flea Market–for a single day or weekend–or for the rest of the season. 10 x 20-feet vendor areas are available at rates ranging from $25.-$35. per day, depending on location. There’s also a 23 x 23- feet, indoor sales space available for immediate rental at the Flea Market, for the next four months.
Non-profit organizations are invited–this and every year– to use The General Stanton Inn Flea Market for fundraising and/or information-sharing opportunities. Free vendor spaces are offered to all non-profit organizations, every weekend throughout the entire Flea Market season.
