Columbus Day Weekend in RI = Fall Festival Fun!

For many Rhode Islanders, Autumn is their favorite season of the year. What’s not to like? Fall foliage, warm days with cool nights, apple cider donuts, apple & pumpkin picking, hayrides, corn mazes and numerous outdoor fall events.

These three premier RI Fall Festivals that take place on Columbus Day Weekend have been a fall tradition for years in the Ocean State; the Scituate Art Festival, Woonsocket Autumnfest and the Columbus Day Festival on the Hill. With only fours days to enjoy, its difficult to squeeze in all three of these family fun destinations.

The 29th Annual Columbus Day Festival on historic Federal Hill gets a head start by kicking off on Friday night, Oct. 8th from 5pm until midnight. Saturday and Sunday, October 9th & 10th the hours are 11am – midnight, and on Monday, October 11th  the festival wraps up from 11am – 8pm. On Sunday, the annual Columbus Day Parade takes off at 11am. The parade route is from Harris Avenue to Dean Street along Atwells Avenue. www.federalhillprov.com

Saturday and Sunday October 9th & 10th the hours are 10am – 11pm and on Monday, October 11th from 12pm – 7pm. The festival features over fifteen live bands and a parade on Monday, Oct. 11th, at 10am routing along Diamond Hill Road and Social Street.  www.autumnfest.org
