One Step. One mile at a time. We will walk to celebrate, honor, and remember thosetouched by breast cancer. Gloria Gemma’s annual walk will take place June 2-4, 2017. It will be a weekend journey of inspiration, memories, friendships and compassion. Participants walk either 44 miles over three days, or 24 miles over two days through Warwick, East Greenwich and North Kingstown, RI.

Who: Over 200 participants and volunteers, from all over New England
When: Friday, June 2 – Opening Ceremony at 6:15 a.m. through Sunday, June 4th Closing Ceremony
at 12:00 p.m.
Where: Goddard Memorial State Park, 1095 Ives Road, Warwick, RI
Event Highlights:
o “Start Line – Kick-Off” – Friday 7:00 a.m.
o Ocean State Job Lot – Friday 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – lunch provided for walkers and “decorated shoe
display”. The display consists of over 150 shoes decorated by employees to express emotions of those
touched by cancer.
o Main Street, East Greenwich – walkers will stroll downtown and store owners will embrace the event
o “Celebration Mile” – Sunday 10:00 a.m. – final mile families, friends and supporters) walk with participants
o “Closing Ceremony” – Sunday 12:00 p.m.
• 44 Mile and 24 Mile Participants walk 20 miles on Friday, 15 miles on Saturday and 9 miles on Sunday
• WALKERS commit to raising $1,500.00 individually or as part of a team
• Pink Tents will be decorated and cover the landscape of Goddard Memorial State Park. This is the weekend home
for the walkers known as “Celebration Village”
• 90 cents of every dollar donated stays in our local community and goes towards FREE breast cancer education,resources, and support programs
