Food Truck Fridays at Carousel Village
Fridays, Now – September 28 | 5:00 – 8:30 PM
Come experience the fun and entertainment of the Roger Williams Park Carousel Village and enjoy some of the best local food trucks around! Ride the Carousel, explore Habro’s Boundless Playground, hop aboard the Carousel Express train, enjoy a camel ride (weather permitting), listen to live entertainment and more. Invite your family and friends and leave the cooking to us.

Textron Elephant Barn Tour
Saturday, June 3| 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Ever wonder how an elephant takes a bath, does her nails, or checks her weight? Now, you can find out during the Zoo’s Textron Elephant Barn tour. Twenty-minute tours of the barn are on a first-come first-served basis. Get an up-close view of the workings of the elephant barn, and insight on the care elephants receive. There are no animal interactions on the tour, and the elephants will not be in the barn during the tours, but you may visit with the elephants after the tour in the Ivory Ella Yard.
Please note: This event is included with the price of regular Zoo admission.

Rise & Play: Sensory-Friendly Mornings in Our Big Backyard
First Tuesday of every month (June 5 – August 7) | 9:00 – 10:00 AM
Join us for an hour of nature play before the zoo opens: designed for families who have a child with sensory sensitivities, come and play in Hasbro’s Our Big Backyard from 9 to 10 a.m. Build mud pies, watch boats float downstream and climb high in a tree-house. Limited to 70 participants, this hour will allow you and your family to spend time playing in nature, in a smaller group of guests.
Price: Regular Zoo admission ($12.95/child; $15.95/senior; $17.95/adult); Free for RWPZ members

Sensory-Friendly Days at Carousel Village
First Tuesday of every month (June 5 – August 7) | 12:00 – 6:00 PM
On the first Tuesday of each month (April – August), Carousel Village offers Sensory-Friendly Days. We invite those with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences to explore and enjoy Carousel Village. For maximum comfort, there will be no music or indoor lights. The Carousel, bounce house and playground will be open to the public, as well as train and pony rides – weather permitting.
Please note: Standard activity pricing applies.

Sheep Shearing Day

Saturday, June 9| 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Join us for our annual sheep-shearing day! The Zoo’s five sheep, located in the Alex and Ani Farmyard, will be sheared in five 30-minute sessions. Visit the Farmyard’s Contact Yard for an upclose encounter with the sheep and goats, and discover the other animals living in the Farmyard including alpaca, barn owls, chickens, giant Flemish rabbits, guinea hogs, Kunekune pigs, and everyone’s favorite Willy the miniature donkey.

Come Out and Play! Rock-A-Baby Concert with Exclusive Access to Our Big Backyard Tuesday, June 19 (rain or shine) | 6:00 PM
Celebrate summer with Rock-A-Baby, and dance and play the early evening away in Hasbro’s Our Big Backyard, the ultimate outdoor play space. Our Backyard zones, Beyond the Fence, and the CVS Health Treehouse will be open for play while you sing and dance to popular tunes of Rock-A-Baby. This event is specifically geared towards our youngest Zoo guests, and promises to be fun for the whole family. Bring your own picnic for the perfect evening. Pre-registration is required.
Price: $10 for ages 2 – 12 and $15 for ages 13+

ZooCamp: Zoo Adventures
Monday, June 19 – Friday, August 25
Perfect for budding scientists, zoologists, explorers, artists, and kids who just love animals! Days are filled with crafts, hands-on and inquiry driven activities, encounters with wild animal ambassadors, and guided Zoo tours. Each Summer Adventures camper will get a ZooCamp t-shirt, a chance to feed the goats in the Alex and Ani Farmyard, and a ZooCamp Access Pass.

Zoobilee! Feast with the Beasts
Saturday, June 30| 7:00 – 11:00 PM
Join Roger Williams Park Zoo for the wildest time you’ll ever have supporting a good cause! Zoobilee! – Feast with the Beasts, presented by ALEX AND ANI, is the Zoo’s largest single-night fundraiser featuring fine fare from dozens of the area’s best restaurants and caterers. Enjoy fabulous entertainment including live music and dancing, and other fun surprises! This is an adults-only evening event (21+). Your ticket includes all food tastings; hydration stations and cash bars available.

Roger Williams Park Zoo, one of the oldest in the nation, is Rhode Island’s number one outdoor family and tourist attraction, and a leader in conservation efforts undertaken by a zoo of its size. The Zoo has received numerous awards for environmental education, and conservation work done locally and around the world, caring for species that without human intervention would face certain extinction. Roger Williams Park Zoo is supported and managed by the Rhode Island Zoological Society, and is owned by the City of Providence.
