You want to have a blast this summer, but your wallet is so skinny that it could hula hoop with a cheerio. Don’t worry, we have you covered with the following amazing FREE summer concerts in Rhode Island. Get out your calendar and pencil in some dates when you will be able to boogie down in the warm summer air, without spending a cent.

 

 

 

The Block Island Music Festival, June 12th-17th 2018

Held at Captain Nick’s Rock n’ Roll Bar (Block Island’s premiere nightclub and live music venue), this grassroots festival strives to push the envelope by erasing style barriers. The result is a truly unique and exciting six-day long musical gumbo where festivalgoers sample music performed by the most talented, “undiscovered” artists in the northeast. In accordance with the organic nature of the event, admission is FREE. To further their commitment to providing a unique experience – the music fest barbeque pit will provide FREE food to all festival goers starting at 5pm until supplies run out for the day. This festival is 21+, for the hours of 5pm-9pm when children will be admitted ONLY under strict parental supervision.

 

Wakefield Band Summer Concerts Series – June 25th – July 30th
Come hear the Wakefield Concert Band at Marina Park, South Kingstown, Monday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. They play the toe-tapping music you love. Bring a blanket or chair, some snacks, and some friends and sit and relax with a melodious hour of beautiful music by the water at Marina Park. Learn more here!

The Downtown Sundown Series, at Roger Williams National Memorial, downtown on S. Main Street, has free acoustic concerts all summer long. Starting in July from 7-9:30  Check out the upcoming schedule online.

The Narragansett Summer Concert series will happen on Friday nights at the beautiful gazebo from 6pm-8pm.  Enjoy the sound of the music as you savor the salty summer air.  Here are the upcoming shows:

 

BLACKSTONE VALLEY CRAFT & MUSIC FESTIVAL: July 14–15 @ 11 A.M. – 7 P.M.

)“Elite ACE’s is hosting the 2nd Annual Blackstone Valley Craft & Music Festival on July 14 and July 15, 2018. In our first year, we were voted by Rhode Island Monthly Magazine as one of top five must do events in Rhode Island in the month of July, truly an honor!
This year’s Festival will be held at River Island Art Park, in the Heart of Downtown, Woonsocket, Rhode Island. River Island Art Park is within steps of the City’s Main Street and located in the Island Place Historic District. It is the ideal setting with a unique combination of urban atmosphere and natural beauty and a scenic overlook of the Blackstone River.
There will be 75 local art and craft exhibitors bringing an interactive shopping experience, with activities, do-it-yourself workshops and demonstrations. We will have live entertainment with dance and music of all genres that will celebrate and unify the art & culture experience. We also feature the Tastes of the Blackstone Valley Food Court, taste some of the unique and delicious flavors found in the Blackstone Valley. We will also have a kids Craft Land with face painting, games and activities for children and families to enjoy.”


The North Kingstown Arts Council and Centerville Bank present the Tuesday Night Summer Concert Series at the Town Wharf (55 Bowen’s St) in NK.  The shows start at 7pm, come BYOC (bring your own chair), pack a picnic and enjoy.  Here are the upcoming acts:

The town of Westerly Recreation Department will host Monday Night Jams and Blues on the Beach on Wednesday nights at Westerly Town Beach. Concerts are 6-8 pm rain or shine.  The rain location will be at Windjammer Lounge.   Below is the schedule of concerts:

Garden City Center Summer Concert Series

Music lovers can enjoy a wide variety of live performances and shoppers have the opportunity to win great prizes donated by Garden City stores.

Wednesday nights in July & August at the gazebo

“Sitting in your lawn chair under the stars and listening to music is an ideal way to spend a summer night,” said Janice Pascone, Garden City Center marketing manager. “ So enjoy dinner on the patio of one of the wonderful restaurants we are surrounded by, or simply get takeout and bring it back to your blanket, and just relax.”

Marina Park Music Series will take place on Monday Nights from 6:30-7:30 pm and will feature the toe tapping sounds of the Wakefield Concert Band.  Come and relax by the water.

Where:
On the lawn at Marina Park on Salt Pond Road in South Kingstown.

When:
Every Monday evening from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM from June 26 until July 31, weather permitting (no rain). No concert on Monday, July 4.

What to Bring:
​A comfortable chair, blanket, snacks or a picnic. A light sweater or  jacket can be helpful as the evening cools. Children and pets are welcome.

The Watch Hill Summer Concert Series will kick off June 26th and will provide performances every other Tuesday for a series of 5 shows!  Concerts will be held from 6-8 pm on the Village Green of Watch Hill. Come and enjoy the music and the beautiful surroundings.

East Providence Recreational Department also offers a Summer Concert Series on Thursdays starting on June 2nd until August 11th, most concerts start at 6pm! Here is the 2018 schedule! Check out the Facebook page for updates.

 

Wakefield Riverfire and Art Walk will start on Thursday June 21st.  .  You can enjoy this free firey event every Thursday night until August 24th.  Live music, local artists, food vendors and more!  Check out the Facebook page to stay up to date.

Providence’s Burnside Park 

is home to a free concert/beer garden series that takes place on Thursday afternoons throughout the summer, from 4:30-7. Live music from 5:30-7 ensures that your personal dance hall, show space, and musician’s salon is but a stroll downtown away.

  10. We haven’t finalized the line up for RiverFire in Wakefield, RI yet, though it will be as stellar as last year’s schedule of great local artists! Plus, each event starting Thursday, June 23rd, and every Thursday through the season ending September 29th, is a foof drive to benefit the Jonnycake Center of Peace Dale! Plus, there will be grand lighting on Saturday, October 1st with a multi band and vendor show!
