The Great International Beer Festival–  On Saturday October 24th, the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence will become a haven for beer lovers and enthusiasts! With your ticket fare ($52 at the door)  you will be able to taste unlimited samples of over 250 craft brews as well as engage in some casual beer banter with the brewers.  Pizza will be available to help soak up the suds.  There are two sessions 91-4:30 pm and 6:30-10 pm), both offer music, beer, food and more!  Complete details here.

 

 

 

fall foloage tourThe Black Stone Valley Fall Foliage Train Excursion–  On Saturday October 24th The Black Stone Valley Fall Foliage excursion will take you on a scenic tour through the Black Stone Valley and drop you off in Putnam for 3.5 hours of  relaxing and the opportunity to enjoy the many antique and gift shops.  Additionally, you can take part in Putnam’s Annual Pumpkin Festival, a farmers’ market and eat at some of the local restaurants.  For details and tickets, click here.

 

narr cocNarragansett Fall Restaurant Week–  Not only is Narragansett a haven for beach go-ers, it has also established itself as a dining destination.  Narragansett Fall Restaurant Week highlights the best of the best from each participating venue. The menu are always appealing and to add a bit more incentive, the prices are also set to entice you.  The culinary week spreads beyond the Narragansett area…so plan accordingly as you might want to hit several places.  It is the perfect reason to return to one of your favorites, or go out on a limb and try somewhere new!  The week starts October 23rd and ends November 1st.  More details here.

spooky zooSpooky Zoo at Roger Williams Park Zoo–  On October 24th and 25th from 10 am – 3 pm the entire family can enjoy Spooky Zoo!  This event offers outdoor autumn themed activities for all ages.  Bring your goodie bag for trick-or-treating!  There will be live music, seasonal entertainment, characters in costume, encounters of the creepy crawly kind, pumpkin treats for the animals and so much more! Activities are free with Zoo admission and all children (12 and under) dressed in costume get in for half price!  Details here.

 

 

wickedweek8_5x11-791x1024Wickford Wicked Week & 1/2–  This is the first weekend of this family fun event and it will continue until Halloween!  If you have not been yet, now is your chance!  There is an entire week left of seasonal fun for the entire family.  Here is the schedule from the wickfordvillage.org site:

  • THUR  October 22, 5-8pm:  LADIES’ NIGHT!  Grab your girlfriends for a beautiful fall evening of boutique shopping.  Many shops will offer demonstrations, specials and refreshments.  The Village will be aglow with pumpkin luminaries!
  • SAT  October 24,  9am- 12noon:  SPOOKY TENT SALE… Some of your favorite Wickford Shops will be “cleaning out the cobwebs.”  Come on down by the Town Dock and get some great goodies at SCARY LOW PRICES!
  • SAT  October 24, 12.30pm: Join Victoria McNally from Ghost Tours of Newport RI for a grave side chat as we discuss Wickford’s historic cemeteries, it’s role in RI’s first vampire,  ghost hunting 101 and more!  Also experience the ancient art of dowsing or divining first hand to help find lay lines and communicate from the beyond.  Tour begins in Updike Park.
  • SUN  October 25,  12noon:  HORRIBLES PARADE… Kids of all ages are invited to march in our annual costume parade, led by “Terry The Unfunny Pirate.”  Parade begins promptly at noon from St. Paul’s Parish House on Main St. & concludes in the municipal parking lot by the Town Dock, where Terry will induce booing with his unfunny knock-knock jokes!  Trick-Or-Treat throughout the day at participating businesses*.   Don’t forget your candy buckets!
  • SUN. October 25th, 1-4pm: INTERACTIVE HAUNTED HOUSE… Family friendly, FREE for kids of all ages – Walk the PLANK, test your STRENGTH against the Ghosts and Goblins and play games to leave with a Pirate BOOTY … @ Pilates Stance, 901 Boston Neck Rd., NK – 2nd Floor (across from Hamilton Elementary School).
  • THUR October 29th, 7pm:  WICKED BINGO!  A festive fundraiser for the NK Food Pantry full of fun & prizes! (Brought to you by the NK Chamber Charitable Foundation.)  For location and details, visit www.northkingstown.com or call 295-5566
  • SAT  October 31: HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Trick-Or-Treat throughout the day at participating businesses*.
