7 Food & Drink Events Not to Miss This April!

April is here and it is time to come out from your winter hibernation, even though it is still a bit chilly.  The food scene is heating up here in RI and these 7 events will entice you to get out and indulge!

  1.  Newport Restaurant Week is underway and will continue until April 10th!  Each participating restaurant will be offering a special or a prix-fixe menu priced at $16 dollars for lunch and $35 for dinner! Learn More Here!

2. Stone and Steel Launch Party at Whaler’s Brewing–  April 7th at 5 pm is your chance to be in the beer know at the limited release party of the Stone and Steel Series which is brewed right in Wakefield at Whaler’s Brewing Co.  Tickets are $30 and include live music, tastings, blacksmith demo, a bottle to take home and more!  There will also be food by Boru Barbeque.  Tickets Here!

3. Cookin’ it Old School with Chef Antonio Wormsley–  Antonio Wormsley of Milk Money will be featured at an  intimate chef dinner party…Cookin’ It Old School. Enjoy as you watch your food be prepared in front of you.  You can also pick up some tips from the pros!  The event is at Hope & Main from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.  Learn  more here!

4.  The Rhode Island Table–   This event highlights the local food producers and their tasty offerings.  The event takes place on April 16th from 6-9 at the Carriage Inn & Saloon.  Your mere $5 admission fee is actually a coupon to use that evening towards your purchase of  local goodies!

5.  The 5th Eat Drink RI Festival-  This culinary extravaganza has grown significantly and promises to be even bigger and better this year!  There are 4 events that will take place from April 28- May 1.  The festival begins with Dinner by Dames on Thursday.  Friday you can revel in the mobile restaurant experience during the Truck Stop at the Alex and Ani Center.  Saturday is the Grand Tasting and Sunday will close out the experience with a Grand Brunch!

6. School of Fish at Hope & Main-  April 25th is your chance to learn how to eat with the ecosystem in mind!  Rhode Island chefs will school you on how to prepare a whole fish.  Take local species straight from the sea and learn how to turn it into a meal to enjoy with friends and family! 7. Newport Craft Beer Dinners at Hotel Viking-  There are three opportunities left in April to attend one of their delicious craft beer dinners, the 13th, 20th and the 27th!  Check out the upcoming menus from their site.  You can learn  more here.
