Sardella’s Italian Ristorante is celebrating its 35th anniversary! They opened their doors to the public in April of 1980. At that time, the menu donned 13 classic Italian items. In honor of their anniversary they will be serving the original menu on Thursday nights in April. April 14th, 21st and 28th you can experience the roots of the oldest full service Italian restaurant in Newport. Some menu highlights are:
- mussels steamed in white wine, onion and garlic
- Mozzarella in Carozza,
- Pasta Primavera
- aglio e Olio
- Pasta Mussels-“Imported pasta topped with mussels in a light tomato sauce”
- Sole Francaise
- Pollo alla Fiorentina
- the original New York Sirloin Steak at the original price of 14 dollars
- various other menu offerings.
This flashback occasion will be offered at the original 1980 prices! Appetizers are about $2-3 while entrees start at $6.50. Each dish will also have a suggested wine pairing.
