Jack O’Lantern Spectacular 2014
Starting on October 2nd and running through November 2nd, the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular 2014 at Roger Williams Park

Zoo has been a great draw in years past, and for good reason. Everyone loves a jack-o-lantern, especially when they’re the beautiful, creative, finely-crafted pumpkins that you’ll find at the Spectacular.
If you’ve never been, the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular is a night-time stroll through the eerily transformed Roger Williams Park’s wetlands trail. The path you walk is lit by five thousand jack-o-lanterns of all different types and sizes. Last year, there were a record-breaking 135,000 visitors to the park, and there’s expecting a similar turn-out this year.
In addition to individual jack-o-lanterns, there will also be themed areas. This year, one of the event’s themes is “Jack-O-Lanterns from A to Z,” which will feature detailed tableau of pumpkins representing every letter of the alphabet. For example, H for Horoscope and J for Jungle…let your imagination run wild! Another section will honor inspirational figures. The crew from Passion for Pumpkins is obviously quite passionate. They will work tirelessly to keep the pumpkins fresh throughout the event. Not to mention, all the work they have already put into creating this incredible month long spectacular. Their passion shows as this has been named one of the top 11 spookiest places in the country. Even Martha Stewart Living gave praise to this spooktacular time!
If you’re looking to get some food before (or after) you take your stroll, you can check out the Harvest Buffet. From Friday through Sunday, up until Halloween, the Harvest Buffet will be serving a selection of seasonal dishes, from mashed potatoes and roast turkey to apple cider and buttery corn bread. You might even find some pumpkin themed brew along the trail!
