Haven Brothers

Whether you’re visiting Providence for the first time or you grew up there, you can’t walk through downtown without seeing an array beautiful historical buildings, from the Turk’s Head Building to the Providence Public Library. But one historical downtown establishment that often gets overlooked is Haven Brothers Diner.

If you’ve been by KennedyPlaza at night, you’ve seen Haven Brothers, right next to KennedyPlaza, at the corner of Dorrance and Fulton. Today it’s a shiny metal diner on wheels, but it hasn’t always been that way. The current diner is, in fact, the third incarnation. The original Haven Brothers Diner first rolled out in 1888 as a horse-drawn lunch cart, and has been serving downtown Providence since then. They serve up classic burgers, sandwiches, fries and other great late-night snacks when you’re out on the town.

Stop by Haven Brothers any time between 4:30 PM to 5:00 AM, or, during the day, find them at Spruce Street on Federal Hill.
