The support and kindness, and the love and joy that this endeavor has brought about is all related to how much Jenny has put out to all of us in town. Please come by the Elks on Belmont Ave in Wakefield. The Elks organization is so wonderful and community minded, and they do so much, many of it unnoticed, for the good for our town! The hall will be transformed!
As you will see, one of the main features to this fundraiser has been in the works for a month now, more than 15 people have been set to the large task of making 1000 origami hummingbirds! A symbol of healing and wellness the Japanese 1000 crane tradition has been adapted to suit Jenny’s spirit animal the hummingbird. After the “crazy paper folders” were finished with their job, artists took over and created more than 25 hanging mobiles with the birds on driftwood, willow branches and such. So many birds are now flying and the mobiles will be for sale at the benefit
As an Art event, this day will be proof to the giving nature of our community when visitors look around the room at the MANY works of art donated by local artists. More than 30 artists have given us a piece of them, and we will be auctioning off works of all kinds, photography, paintings, jewelry, sculpture and more. Our talented neighbors have come to support Jenny! Please visit #communityinmotion page to see the pieces donated, you will be amazed! Our local businesses have also shared in helping our event by donating gift certificates and items also for the silent auction. Find yourself bidding on them to have an awesome night on the town, dinner at local restaurants, have a nice massage, a reiki session or go rock climbing! So much has been given to us we couldn’t list them all, you will have no problem finding something for you and the whole family to enjoy once you win!
There is no entry fee, merely a give what you can donation at the door. We hope to see you at some point from 1-9, and can’t wait for the day to celebrate Jenny and share with others our community spirit!
