Today in Greater Kennedy Plaza, the Downtown Farmer’s Market is here with local vendors, and Peter Green from Providence Raptors will be with us talking about the wildlife in and around the park. It’s also Superhero Day and from 5-6, Sidy Maiga will host an open drum circle.

From the streets of Providence, birds perched high on downtown architecture may look like ordinary pigeons, but a keen eye and powerful lens bring the rare Peregrine Falcons into view. For years, the fastest animals on the planet have patrolled the downtown skyline, protecting their territory and successfully rearing over 50 chicks. Peter Green is a photographer and graphic designer living and working in downtown Providence. He walks the city, documenting the Peregrine Falcons and more urban wildlife from Red-Tailed Hawks nesting on rooftops to Kestrels hunting in alleys. Each Tuesday from 3-6 pm during the summer, stop by Kennedy Plaza to shop at the Downtown Farmer’s Market, and bring the kids to our KidoInfo Play in the Park.
