Hello RI Blogger community! I am your new intrepid beer taster who plans to blaze the trail of local brews and report my latest finds. So make sure you check out my weekly blog of suds and grub and see what you think! Without further delay here comes our first Rhode Island libation brew log entry:I was recently offered a choice of drink at a friend’s house. The usual suspects were there. Sam Adams waved to me from behind a stray Coors light. But off in a corner hiding with the salad dressing, I saw the humble green can of Foolproof Backyard India Pale Ale. I am not normally a fan of canned beer but wanted the exotic taste of an IPA with my sweet and spicy red pepper hummus and stone wheat crackers. I was not disappointed! This Pawtucket born brew touched down very light on the tongue then quickly unrolled into a boisterous bitter orange- like crispness. It’s finish is quick and light leaving a very subtle herby memory reminiscent of the last bite of a dandelion salad. This potent (6% alc.) little ale was a nice contrast with the subtleness of the hummus and crackers.I will be investigating more brews from Foolproof Brewery and recommend you Bloggers join me!Thanks for reading and remember, food always brings out the best of drink!
