The Providence Children’s Museum is always doing something, but this August, they’re staying particularly busy. There is an event every day this month, and in most cases more than one. The Children’s Museum is a fantastic choice for a family outing, as it manages to be fun, educational, and social all at the same

time. As an added bonus, there is no admission on Fridays.

Every day this month, the museum will be hosting the Imagination Playground. Imagination Playground is a fantastic event where children can play and build with giant foam blocks of various shapes and sizes. It’s unstructured play at its finest, with children free to build whatever they like.

On Wednesday mornings, the museum will host Wheels at Work. Wheels at Work will introduce your child to a different working vehicle every week. On the 20th, for example, kids will be able to get behind the wheel of one of Providence’s buses.

On the 21st and the 22nd—Thursday and Friday—the Ready, Set, Recycle! event will be held, which not only lets children learn about the recycling process, but also lets them create their own crafts out of recycled material.

On the 9th and the 10th—Saturday and Sunday—the museum will host Worm World. This event, held in the Children’s Garden, will let children meet different types of worms.

On every Tuesday this month, Get Out! will be held, also in the Children’s Garden. There’s a different play theme each week, from jump ropes to mud.

On the 30th and 31st—Saturday and Sunday—the museum will hold Chalk The Walk, which lets kids make their own chalk drawings. This event runs all day, and is a great deal of fun, especially for children with an artistic streak.
