
Holiday Events in Rhode Island
The holiday season is right around the corner. Not only does Rhode Island have a real good chance of a white Christmas in any given year, but there are also a great variety of holiday events in Rhode Island happening all around the state.
Holiday Events in Rhode Island
- To start, you may want to drop by the Providence outdoor ice skating rink ( a favorite among Holiday Events in Rhode Island), right next to Kennedy Plaza. The rink opens on Friday, November the 22nd.
- If you’re looking for a real Christmas classic, Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” will be performed at the Trinity Repertory Company daily from November 9th to December 28th. Tickets are as low as $15.
- If Dickens isn’t your thing but you’re still looking for a night out at the theater, consider going to The Nutcracker, performed by the Festival Ballet Providence on the 20-22nd of December.
- The Polar Express train ride, which recreates the magical journey from the award-winning book, will run from November 24th to December 22nd. Tickets are $36, and the Polar Express will be setting out from the train station at 1 Depot Square in Woonsocket.
- The Pawtucket Winter Wonderland event, takes place on December 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th at Slater Park. Events will include a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, a hay ride, face painting, and other family friendly fun.
- If you head down to Smith’s Castle in North Kingstown on December 7th or 8th, you can check out the “Christmas in The Castle” event, which will feature live music, the reading of stories, and hot cider.
- If you want a more traditional holiday event, you can try out the 43rd annual Christmas tree lighting at Bowen’s Wharf in Newport on December 7th. And, thankfully, Santa is going to be able to make it to this event as well.
