Sweet Cakes

Too often, we think of sweets like cakes and pastries as fillers, as junk food. Sweet Cakes has been a particularly delicious staple of SouthCounty for years, and their home-made, expertly-baked pastries and treats remind you of why people develop a sweet tooth in the first place.

Sweet Cakes is not the biggest building in the world, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in taste. And in addition to their selection of freshly-made cakes, cupcakes, scones, danishes and more, Sweet Cakes also serves lunch from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. They have a limited—but delicious—selection of soups and sandwiches during these hours. Instead of fast food, enjoy a turkey mango sandwich, or one of Sweet Cakes’ egg tarts.

Sweet Cakes is located at 1227 Kingstown Road in Wakefield. It’s right on the rotary in Peacedale, and there’s plenty of parking in the lot next to the bakery.
