Local Talent Shines…

Hello my trusty bloggers! I am chomping at the bit to tell everyone about my experience this past Thursday night in little ol’ Wakefield. Yes your beer ghost blogger changed it up and went out on the town to Phil’s Restaurant for dinner and entertainment. What a blast! I happened upon the finals night of Wakefield Idol and was pleasantly surprised to find a multitude of local talent!

The Contemporary Theater, located behind Phil’s Restaurant on Main Street, has been showing off local singers in a competition similar to American Idol. This challenge has been going on for 5 weeks and elimination rounds had thinned out from 60 contestants to 6 very worthy finalists. All of the Show was streamed from the Theater to Phil’s Restaurant’s massive television. Patrons got to have a wonderful dinner and then participate in voting for your favorite singer. I can pretty much guarantee being from Wakefield you readers know someone who was a contestant!

Perhaps most of you have already heard of this event. Nevertheless, I had to make sure the folks like myself

(hiding under a blanket from the cold) get this tip! Get to Phil’s and at least check out the food, drink and ask who won the final round. If you are a singer (in the shower or car) it might be time to show off your talent because rumor has it there is another Wakefield Idol in the works!
