LIFEcycle Night at NBX Bikes June 14, 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM
What: LIFEcycle Night at NBX Bikes is a public event held to generate engagement and provide information about LIFEcycle’s annual bike-a-thon raising money for local cancer treatment. The event will include two short training rides; one for new road cyclists and one of experienced riders. The experts at NBX Bikes will share mechanical and nutritional advice and LIFEcycle volunteers will share fundraising tips. There will also be prize and swag give-a-ways!
Who: The event is open to the public, with no cost to attend.
When: LIFEcycle Night at NBX Bikes will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2016
• 5:00 – 5:20 PM: Informal information and meet & greet
• 5:20 – 5:30 PM: Welcome remarks from LIFEcycle Co-founder
• 5:30 – 5:40 PM: Rides begin
• 6:15 – 7:30 PM: Information and tips; complimentary wine and cheese served
Where: Event takes place at NBX Bikes in Narragansett, 922 Boston Neck Road. Guided rides take place on local, open roads.
Why: To increase engagement for Ride ‘Round Rhody 2016, Powered by MojoTech, a bike-a-thon that will raise money for local cancer treatment. That ride is being held on July 17, starting and finishing at The Farmer’s Daughter, in South Kingstown. The bike-a-thon will feature 25-mile and 75-mile fully supported routes through South Country. Ride ‘Round Rhody has been held annually since 2009, and has raised more than $370,000 for cancer treatment at hospitals in Rhode Island. Registration is currently open, at crowdrise.com/rrr16. LIFEcycle, Inc. is a Rhode Island not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote healthy, active living and support local cancer treatment.
