“Made in RI is a dark comedy about a liberal bisexual DJ living in LA who inherits a cigar lounge in Rhode Island. It’s All in the Family meets Shameless, set in the Cheers bar that was once run by Tony Soprano. Jo always hated being from Rhode Island- it was a state that didn’t fit her. So, when her cop ex-boyfriend raided her father’s cigar shop and arrested her brother, it was the perfect excuse to leave and pursue her dream of becoming a DJ. But just as Jo starts to find success in her new life on the West Coast, her old man kicks the bucket and sets off a chain of events that return her to the biggest little state in the union. Now back among friends, family, and a few people she’d rather not deal with anymore, Jo finds herself rebuilding a life she tried to leave. The cigar lounge is failing. Her brother’s in the can, getting into a feud with her father’s old mistress, the mob is knocking at the door looking to cash in on old debts, and the damn regulars just won’t leave.”
