Buddy may be gone, but Providence’s Renaissance continues, with opportunities for unique new experiences in art, living, and especially, food and drink, around every corner. Why else would a young executive chef leave a highly regarded Boston restaurant for
our fair capital? GHospitality has made another strong move in Rhode Island’s favor by luring chef Robert Sisca to Providence to become the Corporate Executive Chef for ProvidenceG’s three unique facets, GPub, Rooftop at the G, and Garde de la Mer, all housed in the iconic Providence Gas Company building on Dorrance Street. Sisca, who spent 7 years helping to build a highly successful Boston Provencal-style eatery, Bistro Du Midi, and spent time as a sous chef at New York City’s Michelin 3 Star/ Times 4 Star powerhouse, le Bernardin; has Providence roots. He studied his craft at Johnson and Wales University, and worked at the romantic Providence chestnut, Gracie’s. While in Boston, Sisca won both People’s Choice awards, and a Best of the New from the Boston Globe, all the while satisfying a steady stream of diners in the Hub’s incredibly competitive restaurant world. Colin Geoffroy of GHospitalty states, “We are thrilled to welcome Robert Sisca back to Providence. as we continue to create an unparalleled hospitality experience for our guests, Robert will be instrumental in growing our brand, using his impressive background to provide an innovative and extraordinary cuisine across each concept.” Sisca will inherit three unique spaces, each with its own feel and cuisine. Garde offers the extensive wine list and French inspired New American, with an emphasis on the finest seafood and meats in an elegant setting. Rooftop at the G is Providence’s only space of its kind, with firepits, a glass roof in colder weather, the best views of the skyline, wood oven pizza, and creative small plates. The GPub, in the building’s basement, is
an amazingly high end sports bar, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, 17 LEDs showing all the games, billiards, and shuffleboard. Sisca is a Rhode Island resident, and is very excited to take over all aspects of the food and kitchens for GHospitality’s premier Providence location, and we are truly looking forward to enjoying his creations in these fabulous spaces that showcase the beauty and creativity of America’s Renaissance City.
