Rhode Island hasn’t forgotten the merits of the family farm, although the rest of us are often only reminded of this in the fall. Whether you’re looking for jack o’lanterns or ingredients for a pie—or both—there are plenty of places in the state to pick your

own pumpkins.

1.  Escobar’s Highland Farm in Portsmouth, best-known for its annual corn maze, also has fresh-grown pumpkins available through November.

2.  Narrow Lane Orchard in North Kingstown is located in a nice, secluded spot that makes the process all the more peaceful, and offers not only pick your own pumpkins but, depending on the season, pick your own nectarines, peaches, and apples.

3.  Dame Farm and Orchard in Johnston is open Mon- Fri: 8:30am – 5:30pm  and Saturday, Sunday, and Monday Holidays 9:30am – 5:00pm.  Stop in and get your pumpkin…don’t forget to walk the corn maze or take a wagon ride!

4.  Cumberland Hill Farm in Foster has more than just your standard variety of pumpkins. From the aptly-named goosebump pumpkins to the large, white “cotton candy” pumpkins, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

5.  Quonset View Farm in Portsmouth has been family-owned for a century, and it couldn’t be located in a more beautiful spot. In a month or two, you’ll also be able to chop down your own Christmas trees.

6.  Sweet Berry Farm in Middletown has a lot of pick-your-own options, depending on the season. Pumpkin picking is available seven days a week from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM through October.

7.  The thirty-acre Steere Orchard in Greenville is best-known for its fresh apples, but that’s not all they have. You can stop in from 9-5 through October and pick up a fresh pumpkin.

8.  Spring Hill Sugarhouse in Richmond offers pick your own pumpkins, fresh pressed cider, a corn maze, and cider demonstrations on the weekend!

9.  Confreda Farms is located in Hope and offers beautiful pumpkins, great gourmet foods, a corn maze, hayrides and a boat load more of fall fun!

10.  Carpenter’s Farm Stand is located on Matunuck Beach Road and offers a wide array of pumpkins, gourds, fresh produce, plants and so much more!  They will be having a fall festival every weekend in October!
