Let’s take a look at the events coming up this weekend, from Friday the 19th through Sunday the 21st. It’s looking to be a nice, warm weekend, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. This may be the last warm weekend we have left, so be sure to

At the Courthouse Center for the Arts in West Kingstown, Steely Dan tribute album Hey Nineteen will be performing at 8:00 PM. They’ll be playing Steely Dan’s greatest hit, along with their best b-sides and deep cuts for the die-hard fans. General admission is $20. On Friday the 19th, the Ryan Center in Kingstown will be hosting a dance music and hip hop festival, including 2 Chainz, Cazzette, and Dada Life. Tickets start at $28. Learn more at www.theryancenter.com.
On September the 20th, the Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission will hold the 37th Annual Heritage Festival at the Roger Williams National Memorial on North Main Street in Providence. The festival will feature an exploration of the different cultures in Rhode Island, from Irish to Indian. There will be traditional food and music, as well as a number of child-friendly events like face painting and arts and crafts. The Heritage Festival is free to the public. On September the 20th at the the Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium in downtown Providence, the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, featuring award-winning German violinist Augustin Hadelich. This event will also feature the works of Prokofiev, Richard Strauss, and contemporary American composer John Adams. Learn more about this event at www.vmari.com.
