The Columbus Theater in Providence: Upcoming Shows
The Columbus Theater in Providence doesn’t get the same attention that the PPAC does, but it is certainly not the lesser theater. Large, comfortable and opulently beautiful, the Columbus Theatre is an important part of Providence’s cultural world. Here are some upcoming shows at the Columbus Theater.
On August 20th, indie pop musician and songwriter Kishi Bashi will be performing. Founder of Jupiter One and 
touring member with Of Montreal and Regina Spektor, Kishi Bashi is well-known as a skilled violinist.
On August 27th, Primus frontman Les Claypool will be performing with his country project Due De Twang.
On September 4th, folk performer Dan Blakeslee will be performing with Talahassee and Will Dailey. This is also Dan Blakeslee’s album release show.
The following day, on September 5th, Providence Americana band Joe Fletcher and The Wrong Reasons will have their record release show.
On September 6th, the Can’t Stop The Serenity event will be held at the Columbus Theater. This event is a screening of the Firefly movie, Serenity, with proceeds going towards the Equality Now campaign.
On September 12th, poets Derrick Brown and Cristin O’Keefe Aptowicz will be performing, along with numerous local poets.
On September 17th, psychadelic rock band The Growlers will be performing, along with The Garden, a punk rock twin duo.
On September 20th, indie folk band Mount Eerie will be playing, along with Providence’s own Assembly of Light Choir.
