The South Kingstown Outdoor Farmers Market is one of the best markets that Rhode Island has to offer. In the outdoor season, you can find them at two different locations. The name is derived from the owner, Louis, as he was a Fire Marshall and arson investigator for 28 years. Baffoni Poultry Farm, Inc Since 1935, this local family has been dedicated to raising and dressing all-natural poultry for the community. Karen Stackow also creates solid hardwood cutting boards using scrap from local mills on beautiful cherry, mahogany and black walnut. Driftwood collected locally becomes interesting surfaces for GPS coordinates and words of inspiration. Custom orders of all kinds are welcomed, anything is possible. Signs O’ Fire is an artistic endeavor to keep scrap wood from the landfill.
Silk Tree Farm is located in Little Compton R.I. Cathy Bardsley and Tom Sherman run it. We raise, breed and sell Nigerian Dwarf goats along with Heritage breed livestock. We use our Nigerian Dwarf goat’s milk to make our handcrafted goat milk soaps. We chose this breed because they have wonderful temperaments and they produce milk with high butterfat content. This contributes to the moisturizing quality of our soaps. We also make hand poured soy wax candles, which you will find, burn cleaner than other waxes.
