The South Kingstown Outdoor Farmers Market is one of the best markets that Rhode Island has to offer. In the outdoor season, you can find them at two different locations. On Saturdays from 8:30- 12:00 they are at URI East Farm and on Tuesdays from 2pm-6pm they are at Marina Park. Here is a list of the local vendors that you can find during the outdoor season:

Arson Alley Apiary was founded in 1980 at 420 Congdon Hill Road as a result of litter pollination of a once regrettable garden. The name is derived from the owner, Louis, as he was a Fire Marshall and arson investigator for 28 years. Louis integrates pest management to all 35 of his colonies to ensure there is no poison introduced to the hives. Over the years Arson Alley Apiary honey has been sold throughout the world. You can find this high quality honey at The South Kingstown Farmers Market and at the farm itself as well as several other area outlets. There are various locations where the apiaries are kept so that there are different nectar sources. In addition to purchasing honey at the market, you can also find:

Baffoni Poultry Farm, Inc Since 1935, this local family has been dedicated to raising and dressing all-natural poultry for the community. Baffoni Poultry Farm, Inc. knows the value in providing the local residents with hand-picked eggs that came from cage free chickens who are raised without hormones, additives or meat byproducts. They also offer whole chickens for purchase and other poultry products.

Pyrography is defined as “writing with fire”, and this shop features woodburned images inspired by nature on locally harvested raw edged wood; cedar and pine scraps, large and small. Karen Stackow also creates solid hardwood cutting boards using scrap from local mills on beautiful cherry, mahogany and black walnut. Driftwood collected locally becomes interesting surfaces for GPS coordinates and words of inspiration. Custom orders of all kinds are welcomed, anything is possible. Signs O’ Fire is an artistic endeavor to keep scrap wood from the landfill.

Silk Tree Farm is located in Little Compton R.I. Cathy Bardsley and Tom Sherman run it. We raise, breed and sell Nigerian Dwarf goats along with Heritage breed livestock. We use our Nigerian Dwarf goat’s milk to make our handcrafted goat milk soaps. We chose this breed because they have wonderful temperaments and they produce milk with high butterfat content. This contributes to the moisturizing quality of our soaps. We also make hand poured soy wax candles, which you will find, burn cleaner than other waxes. Our hand poured soy wax candles bring warmth to your home with the confidence of soy wax being better for you, and our environment.

Spice Gypsy Spice Gypsy brings over 50 fine spices, seasoning blends, flavored salts and teas to the Farmer’s Market in South County. Established in November of 2012, we enjoy serving our spice customers. Our spices are sourced in small batches and ground weekly to maintain their color, freshness, full flavor and health benefits. We are at both the indoor and outdoor market year round. Spice Gypsy is a family business started because we found few sources locally for the variety of fresh spices that home cooks, chefs and others enjoy. We believe that spices are the perfect and necessary compliment to all of the fine produce and foods found at the Farmer’s Market to put the “finishing touches” on a good meal. Woodworker Man creates handmade birdhouses for sale. These houses are made of white cedar and finished off with a copper top.
