
Upcoming Events…
There’s always a lot going on in the worlds of music and theater, and now that the weather is growing a bit warmer, the time has never been better to take a night out on the town. There’s a number of great upcoming events in Rhode Island, both in Providence and elsewhere. Here are just a few of them.
On May 30th and 31st, the humorous, popular Menopause: The Musical will be showing at the Providence Performing Arts Center on Weybosset street in Providence. This musical follows the story of four middle-aged women, and has been successfully touring the country since 2002. Tickets start at $38.
On June 15th, the PPAC is hosting former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and his band. He will be performing many Beatles classics, including “With a Little Help With My Friends” and “Yellow Submarine.” Tickets start at $65.
The non-profit Gamm Theatre, which can be found on Exchange Street in Providence, is showing the play Blackbird through June 1st. Blackbird, which is for mature audiences only, is a stark, deep play taking place in one ninety-minute act.
The famous Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel, located on Washington Street in Providence, will be hosting several notable musical acts over the next month and a half. Grammy award winning rapper T-Pain will be performing on May 28th and on June 4th, Rock band Interpol will be performing.
The Theatre by The Sea, located on Cards Pond Road in Wakefield, will be hosting two great musicals over the next month. From June 6th to June 22nd, they will be performing Rat Pack Show, a celebration of the music of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Joey Bishop, and Sammy Davis, Jr. Tickets start at $39.
And, on June 24th, indie-folk musician Iron and Wine will be coming to the Columbus Theatre in Providence. Tickets are $40 in advance, or $45 at the door.
