What is Happening this Weekend?

This is the last weekend of September, and the first weekend of the Fall (technically at least). Here are some of the things happening from Friday the 26^th to Sunday the 28^th.

Starting this weekend, My Fair Lady will be showing at the Ocean State Theater Company in Warwick. This classic romantic musical will be opening on Friday night at 7:30. Tickets start at $39. You can learn more, and purchase tickets, at www.oceanstatetheatre.org.

On Saturday the 27^th, you can stop by the SoMa Autumn Fest, on South Main Street in Providence. This urban stroll will take place from 3:00 to 7:00 and will feature live music. Admission is free. To find out more, go to www.facebook.com/SoMaPVDRI.

Also on Saturday, the New England Whiskey Festival will be held at Twin River Casino in Lincoln. This 21+ event will feature whiskey tasting, food, and live entertainment Tickets are $30. Learn more at www.twinriver.com.

A Night in Punjab will be held on Saturday the 27^th. This event will be held at the Providence Rink, right next to Kennedy Plaza, and will offer a gentle introduction to this north Indian culture. There will be a number of family-friendly activities and attractions, including a bounce house and authentic henna tattooing. Learn more at www.providencerink.com

Saturday and Sunday are your two last chances to feed a seal or a giraffe at Roger Williams Zoo, at least for this season. The “Animal Encounters” program allows patrons to aid in the feeding of some of the zoo’s friendlier animals. Learn more about the program, or buy tickets, at https://rwpzoo.org/415/animal-feedings.

Finally, on Sunday the 28^th, there will be a street art festival on Thayer Street in Providence. This festival will feature scores of different street artists, a variety of unique crafts, and will feature costumed performers from the Big Nazo puppet workshop.  To learn more click here!
