Local Apple Cider in Rhode Island!
If the autumn has a drink, it’s most definitely hot apple cider. While you can always pick up a plastic jug at the supermarket,
you can’t beat a cup of freshly-pressed apple cider made with locally-grown apples.
For a start there’s the Appleland Orchard in Smithfield. As you may have guessed from the name, Appleland prides itself on its apples. In addition to apple cider, you can also try their fresh apple cider donuts made on-site. Find out more at www.applelandorchardri.com.
Up in Cumberland, you can stop by the Phantom Farms stand on Diamond Hill road. Phantom Farms is one of the best apple growers in the state. Take a stroll through their orchard and, on your way out, stop by the farm stand and pick up a bottle of freshly-squeezed cider. Learn more here.
You can grab some cider from Sunset Orchards, a family owned and operated farm in North Scituate. Try a mug of their hot cider, made from a selection of Sunset Orchards’ eighteen different apple varieties. Find out more here!

Hill Orchards, located in Johnston, grows their own apples, peaches, and nectarines and, unsurprisingly, they know how to make fruit juice. Their cider in particular is excellent, with a slightly sweeter taste to it. Find out more, including their hours, at www.hillorchards.com.
