I really appreciate the list of local farmers that are still raising livestock in a healthy environment and are slaughtered here, and brought home to your own freezer to ENJOY! I think the conditions on some of the “farms”that raises animals for the commercial packaging plants are deplorable, and are totally under staffed when it comes to USDA inspectors and plant staff. In a country that allows endless unemployment, and benefits to those that could be educated, to fill highly important positions as meat/poultry inspectors for the USDA, instead, choose to send our poultry to China and back before it even reaches our grocers, is
ludicrous! I certainly don’t want what I’m putting on my table to feed my family to have been shipped around the world and back before I even purchase it! Some of our Senators need to investigate this, and get the USDA investigated! Who is in charge of our meat and poultry and pork growers and processors anyway???
Be safe, purchase local, farm fresh grown, to your table! Eat from local farmers, our raise your own…it’s critical to your health and well-being to know what you are EATING, and what has been done to your food, before you serve it to your family!
Wake up USDA, and get on the same plain as the American citizens and consumers are!
