Saturdays Only • Ages 18 • Limited to 4 Students
Ready to stick your hands near fire… safely? Mess Around & Find Out is the perfect zero-pressure introduction to the world of flameworking. Designed specifically for complete beginners, this class focuses on exploring the torch, getting comfortable with the tools, and learning how molten glass reacts when heat, gravity, and curiosity collide.
Your instructor will kick things off with a safety chat and a tour of the equipment—what everything is, what it does, and how not to accidentally invent new hairstyles. From there, each student will have their own torch and work independently as the teacher guides the group through simple drills and foundational techniques.
Think of it like glass-yoga for your hands: building muscle memory, experimenting with heat control, and discovering the thrill of shaping molten glass. Some students may walk out with a tiny treasure to keep. Others may simply embrace the beautifully imperfect process and leave with a brand-new skill (and probably a few good stories).
This class is all about trying something totally new, having fun, and letting go of the pressure to “make something perfect.” Consider it your flameworking sampler platter—just enough heat, technique, and play to see if you’re hooked.
Class Details:
• Limited to 4 students for plenty of hands-on guidance
• The flameworking bench is standing height; tall stools are available for comfort
• Ages 18
• Offered on Saturdays only
• All materials included
Come mess around… and find out just how fun flameworking can be.

Looking for a creative day out without the heat of the hot shop? Our Mosaic Coaster Workshop is the perfect way to relax, get creative, and make something you’ll actually use! Choose from an incredible assortment of colorful glass to design your own unique coaster. We have tons of colors, textures, and shapes, so no two projects are ever alike. Never made a mosaic before? No problem! We’ll walk you through the basics, then you’re free to work at your own pace. On beautiful days, you’re even welcome to take your project outside and create by the river—one of our favorite places to spend an afternoon. Have your own treasures you’d like to include? Feel free to bring broken ceramics, sea glass, or other meaningful pieces from home. One of the best things about mosaics is that you can mix and match materials without worrying about glass compatibility. If you’re creating a functional coaster, we do recommend choosing pieces that are similar in thickness so your finished surface stays nice and level. Projects typically take 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the complexity of your design. If inspiration strikes and you need a little more time, no worries! You’re welcome to return during our unguided studio rental hours to rent the tools and continue working on your masterpiece. Once your mosaic is complete, it will need 24 hours to dry before grout can be applied. We’ll send you home with your choice of black or white grout and simple instructions to finish it at home. Prefer to grout here? You’re welcome to leave your coaster with us and return later to grout it independently at the studio. This workshop is perfect for date nights, family outings, friends’ get-togethers, or a creative afternoon with the kids and grandkids.
