Get a lavish look at RI by touring one of Newport’s prominent mansions. Bursting with history, The Preservation Society of Newport County offers eleven properties (The Breakers being the most famous) for the public to explore. The mansions are considered world-class sightseeing, providing a glimpse into America’s Gilded Age.  With a variety of options, the sprawling estates are extra gorgeous in the springtime!

  1. See a flower show

Mark you calendars – The annual “Rhode Island Home Garden and Flower Show” is March 30 – April 2 at the RI Convention Center. Boasting over 25,000 flowers, this show is sure to put you in the spring mood! Apparently, this year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever!

There’s nothing like a glittering Rhode Island sunset! Scope out a prime watching spot and make a night out of watching this mesmerizing (and free) moment. You can bring a picnic to a nearby hill or just cozy up under a blanket on the beach.  A few ideas are: Rhode Island Lighthouse, Castle Hill (the lawn), and Prospect Terrace. Starting in May, you can get an even better view of the sunset by sailing right through it. Head here for more information!
