Dog Parks in Rhode Island

Dog parks are a way to let your dog run free and socialize in a controlled environment, without having to worry about them running off or getting in to trouble. It’s also a great opportunity to get out in the sun and socialize with your fellow animal lovers. Here’s just a few of the dog parks in Rhode Island.

First, there’s the Pawtucket Dog Park. The Pawtucket Dog Park is located within Slater Park. Drive in past the carousel and look for the signs. The Pawtucket Dog Park is located on a large, fenced-in field that was once the local bowling green. There’s also the Newport Dog Park, located at 105 Connel Highway, right near Route 138 and right off the rotary. It’s a large field of dirt and wood chips that will be particularly nice in the early evening, when the sun is beginning to set and Newport cools down.

There’s the South Kingstown Dog Park on Saint Dominic Street in Wakefield. This park was built specifically with dogs—and their owners—in mind, including free poop bags and a water fountain. In Providence, there’s the Gano Street Dog Park, which also has a separate, fenced-in section for small dogs. The Gano Street park is among several sports fields, and has a small hill that your dog will love bolting up and down. The GanoStreetDogPark is located in GanoPark at 153 Gano Street.
