Five Reasons to Not Miss the Charlestown Seafood Festival

Put on those eating pants because it’s time for the 33rd Annual Charlestown Seafood Festival. This weekend (August 4, 5 and 6 – rain or shine!), Ninigret Park in Charlestown will be filled with noms from under the sea including: chowder and clam cakes, steamed mussels, fish and chips, lobster rolls and raw bars. Are you drooling yet? But, guess what? That’s not all there’s going to be!

Here are five incredible reasons to attend the festival, which is sure to provide fun for the entire family:

1. The food – duh!

Let’s be real, the number one reason for going to this mouthwatering event is for the food! The annual festival is described on their official website as a “gastronomic extravaganza of Rhode Island’s best seafood, lobsters, steamers, chowder, fish & chips, lobster rolls, clam cakes, corn on the cob and a raw bar as well as an array of all types of foods for every taste.” Enough said!
2. Amusement rides galore.

Enjoy some wholesome family fun thanks to Rockwell Amusements, a spectacular traveling amusement company. Boasting countless carnival rides, Rockwell is sure to light up the festival with enjoyment!

3. Rock out to live music!

Every day of the festival will be scored with a killer soundtrack! Attendees can enjoy live music from bands like Crushed Velvet, Kashmir (Led Zeppelin Tribute), The Corvettes (a Doo Wop Review), Merchants of Cool (Tribute to Foreigner), Dirty Deeds (AC/DC Tribute) and much more!
