Kate Dandel’s first documentary feature “Gold Balls” challenges our view on what it means to grow old. A glimpse into the world of Competitive Senior tennis, these are not your average players. They’ve lived several lives and are still going strong. Perhaps this is what retirement should look like? These seniors may not be able to sprint across the court, but their discipline and determination is inspiring. One might say their focus borders on obsession. Perhaps that’s what it takes? If this is Kate’s first foray into the documentary world, we’re excited to see what else she’s got on her docket.
