The weather may have taken a turn, but that doesn’t mean things grind to a halt.  Local farmers markets, for example, haven’t disappeared, they’ve just moved inside. If you want to check out some locally grown produce, locally made crafts, or you’re in the area and you just want to get out of the cold, stop by the Hope Valley Indoor Farmer’s Market in RI.  During the winter, the farmer’s market can be found on the second floor of the Richmond Community Center, located at 1168 Main Street in Wyoming. The farmer’s market is open from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM on every Saturday until April 19th. If you’re having trouble finding it, head into the police station, find the elevator at the back of the building, and head to the second floor.

You’ll find a lot of the same vendors you would at the outdoor farmer’s market. If you’ve never been, you’ll find a great selection of unique local products. The Usquepaugh Baking Company, for example, not only sells fantastic pastries and foods—their winter specialty is pumpkin bread—but they also offer a great variety of home-made doggie treats, without the fillers you’ll usually find in dog food.
If you’re looking for the catch of the day, check out Brown Family Seafood, a West Kingston based, family-owned company with a great selection of freshly caught seafood.

If you’re looking for locally made jams, jellies and preservatives, find the table for Carolyn’s Kitchen. They offer a great variety of products, and starting this upcoming Saturday, you can try their newest product, a spiced caramel pear jam. Or if you’re looking for a truly unique holiday gift, you can check out some of the outfits from Hannah’s Farm Alpacas. Located in Ashaway, this farm offers sweaters, hats, scarves and other pieces of clothing made from alpaca fur. When you’re looking for something interesting, delicious, and local, or if you’re just hungry and find yourself near Wyoming, stop by the Hope Valley Indoor Farmers Market in RI.
