June at the Roger Williams Park Zoo is Looking Like a Wild Time!

Rise and Shine on the Farm

Saturday, June 10 | 9:00 AM

COCK-A-DOODLE-DO! Join zookeepers in the Alex and Ani Farmyard for a special morning on the farm before the Zoo opens to the public. Enjoy a continental breakfast of bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, juices and coffee outside the Farmhouse, and explore the Farmyard as zookeepers get the day started. This event is “free-range,” so guests can go at their own pace to explore the many activities, including the cow milking, egg collection stations, and the produce growing and play station. Pre-registration is required.

Cost: $25/members, $35/non-members

Wild Art

Saturday, June 17 | 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Artist and educator Eric Fulford returns to Wild Art! Each class will include a visit to the focus animal, where students will observe the animals’ unique adaptations and form before returning to the classroom to create their works of art.

Cost: Members: $20; Non-members: $30 (includes all materials)

ZooCamp: Tadpole Academy

Monday, June 19 – Friday August 25

A great way to introduce your 4 – 5 year old to ZooCamp! Each session is only three hours long and includes stories, crafts, games, encounters with wild animal ambassadors and zoo exploration in a safe, small group of only 15 campers per week. Each Tadpole Academy camper will receive a ZooCamp t-shirt, a chance to feed the goats in Alex and Ani Farmyard and a ZooCamp Access Pass.

ZooCamp: Zoo Adventures

Monday, June 19 – Friday, August 25

Perfect for budding scientists, zoologists, explorers, artists, and kids who just love animals! Days are filled with crafts, hands-on and inquiry driven activities, encounters with wild animal ambassadors, and guided Zoo tours. Each Summer Adventures camper will get a ZooCamp t-shirt, a chance to feed the goats in the Alex and Ani Farmyard, and a ZooCamp Access Pass.

ZooCamp: Conservation Heroes

Monday, June 26 – Friday, August 25

It’s a wild world, and one that needs leaders passionate about animals, the environment, and conservation! Campers will be empowered to become leaders in conservation through teambuilding and leadership activities, engagement in inquiry activities, games, encounters with wild animal ambassadors, visits to animal exhibits, outdoor exploration, and more. Each Conservation Heroes camper will receive a ZooCamp t-shirt, a chance to feed the goats in the Alex and Ani Farmyard, and a ZooCamp Access Pass.

Come Out and Play! Rock-A-Baby Concert with Exclusive Access to Our Big Backyard

Tuesday, June 20 | 6:00 PM

Celebrate summer! Come sing and dance to the popular tunes of Rock-A-Baby, and play in Hasbro’s Our Big Backyard, the ultimate outdoor play space as well as in Beyond the Fence, and the CVS Health Treehouse. This event is specifically geared towards our youngest Zoo guests, and promises to be fun for the whole family. Bring your own picnic for the perfect evening. Pre-registration is required.

Price: $10 for ages 2 – 12 and $15 for ages 13+

Zoobilee! Feast with the Beasts

Saturday, June 24 | 7:00 – 11:00 PM

Zoobilee!, presented by ALEX AND ANI, features fine fare from dozens of the area’s best restaurants, caterers and bars, as well as fabulous entertainment including live music and dancing, and other fun surprises! This is an adults-only evening event (21+).

Roger Williams Park Zoo, one of the oldest in the nation, is Rhode Island’s number one outdoor family and tourist attraction, and a leader in conservation efforts undertaken by a zoo of its size. The Zoo has received numerous awards for environmental education, and conservation work done locally and around the world, caring for species that without human intervention would face certain extinction.  Roger Williams Park Zoo is supported and managed by the Rhode Island Zoological Society, and is owned by the City of Providence.
