Local Farm Dinner at Celestial Café

Celestial Café in Exeter, RI has always been on the forefront of providing locally grown and raised food options on their menu.  If you have not been lately, you are truly missing out.  The food is impeccably presented, exquisitely prepared and more often than not…locally grown or raised. Starting on April 10th and continuing through the weekend is the ideal time to give this fabulous place a try.  Why?  They are offering one of their monthly farm dinners at $40.00 per person with a glass of locally made wine or ale included.  If you have already attended a farm dinner, then you are aware of how amazing they are.  If not, take a look at this month’s tempting menu…

April Farm Dinner Menu

SOUP SERVED Kale & Caramelized Onion Bisque Schartner’s Farm greenhouse kale, S&P Gardiner sweet onions, and Rhody Fresh cream in a hearty bisque garnished with Spice Gypsy Cajun seasoning, fried onions & couscous.

 

SALAD SERVED Smoked Salad DuTemple Brook Farm greens, Schartner’s Farm carrots, beet chip croutons and shaved Narragansett Creamery’s Devine Providence cheese served with dressing house made from smoked Wojnar Farm plum tomatoes.

 

APPETIZER SERVED Brunch Polenta Kenyon’s Grist Mill ground corn polenta infused with Narragansett Creamery’s Atwell’s Gold cheese, topped with a sherry poached Pat’s Pastured egg and consommé with RI Mushroom Co. mushrooms and optional Pat’s Pastured bacon bits.

 

ENTRÉE SERVED Cacciatore & Aglio e Olio A fresh pappardelle nest tossed in S&P Gardiner garlic and Narragansett Bay Olive Oil with sautéed Schartner’s Farm greens then served with your choice of:

**Fresh S&P Gardiner vegetable ratatouille**

**Slow cooked Pat’s Pastured chicken in tomatoes & onions**

**Roasted Brown Family catch-of-the-day with roasted tomatoes & onions**

 

DESSERT SERVED Chocolate Cheesecake Satchel Cheesecake made from Narragansett Creamery Angelito cheese and Sweenor’s chocolate in a puff pastry satchel dusted with Spice Gypsy cinnamon and served on a bed of pudding made from Pat’s Pastured eggs & Rhody Fresh cream.
