different local Rhode Island Chocolatiers. You owe it to yourself to visit at least one of them.
1. Sweenor’s Chocolates in South County has been serving up box after box of freshly-crafted chocolates for more than thirty years, and is owned and operated by third generation candy makers. Sweenors always has a great selection of pre-wrapped gift items, from sea salt vanilla caramels to chocolate almond bark. Their boxed selections are also fantastic. 2. Garrison Confections in Central Falls has a fantastic selection of carefully crafted chocolate treats. Chocolate covered cranberries, macadamias, hazelnuts, pretzels, ginger, and more is available at Garrison Confections. And their sampler boxes contain some great selections, like their vanilla honey chocolate, a piece of white chocolate ganache and honey ganache covered in milk chocolate. 3. Hauser Chocolates was founded by the Swiss-born chocolatier Ruedi Hauser in the mid 1980s, and has been producing world-class chocolates ever since. Try their chocolate-covered espresso beans, their truffles, or, if you’re after ice cream, grab one of their dessert sauces, such as bittersweet fudge or mint chocolate fudge. If you’re looking for something a bit lighter, they also have 100% organic, handmade, single-serving chocolate bars in a number of varieties. The store is located at 59 Tom Harvey Road in Westerly.
