Whether you’re interested in sustainable, local farming, or you’re just looking for a high-quality meal, Rhode Island will have something to suit you.

For a start, check out the Providence Oyster Bar. The Providence Oyster Bar is located at 283 Atwell’s Avenue in Providence, right in the heart of Federal Hill. Stop by their raw seafood bar and sample some of their locally-caught clams, cod, lobster, and more. The Providence Oyster Bar serves brunch, lunch, and dinner, and has a fully-stocked selection of wines and liquors.

Check out Local 121 on Washington Street in Providence. As the name suggests, Local 121 is dedicated to the idea of serving local, sustainably-grown food. In addition to a great seafood selection, you can also try their grass-fed New England beef, or some of their Rhode Island-made wines.

For something a bit less formal, stop by the Beehive Cafè, located on Franklin Street in Bristol, about a block from the shore of Bristol Harbor. In addition to using locally-sourced honey, the Beehive café buys its produce from local farms. Stop in for breakfast and help yourself to some locally-harvested eggs, locally-picked fruit. The cheese from Narragansett Creamery alone is worth the trip.

Start by Shartner Farms in Exeter and pick up a freshly-made pie, or get some fresh produce from Pippin Orchard in Cranston.
