There’s a lot of talk about the death of the traditional Main Street in America. While that may be true elsewhere in the country,

it’s not true in Rhode Island. East Greenwich’s main street isn’t the most famous in the state, but if you give it a pass, it’ll be your loss. Main Street in East Greenwich has a great selection of restaurants, bars, cafes, and retail stories. It is a particularly scenic and walkable street.

Even if you don’t have a lot of time to spare in Main Street, you can still make time for a good cup of coffee. Crosby’s Cafe, Greenwich Bay Oyster Barformerly known as the Village Cafe. Crosby’s serves up a good cup of coffee, and they serve breakfast all day.

Or, you could stop by the warm and comfortable Main Street Coffee. It’s a large, well-lit place that you won’t mind spending some time in, making it a great spot for getting some reading or some work done. They also serve up some great food.

If you’re a fan of seafood, you’re in luck. The Greenwich Bay Oyster Bar serves up oysters, snails, shrimp, cherrystones, and more. If you’re feeling adventurous, try one of their oyster shooters.

Rasa is the boldly colored building that offers an experience in authentic Indian Cuisine.  Owner  Sanjiv Dhar, owner of Kabob & Curry and Rasoi also, is no stranger to providing the best Indian food around.  Stop in and enjoy the flavor!

Dante’s Kitchen brings a some southern flavor to East Greenwich.  They offer breakfast, lunch and a BYOB dinner.  Try out the Jambalaya for a real Cajun experience.

For the dog lover, Main Street is a great place to be. Not only is it a good spot to take them on a walk, but you can stop by Bone Appetit, a dog store that prides itself on being friendly to both animals and to the environment.
