Options Magazine Hosts Second Annual Gay 5k Run/Walk Sept. 23

The second annual Gay 5k Run/Walk for Rhode Island’s LGBTQ community will be held this Sunday, Sept. 23, at 10am in Warwick City Park.  Rhode Island’s source for LGBTQ news and resources since 1982, Options Magazine (circulation 4500), is hosting this important community event. All proceeds from the 5k support Options Magazine at a crucial time for the LGBTQ community in our nation.

The 5k run is open to everyone, including Division One schools, who are encouraged to advertise this event to their students, as it could become quite competitive. People are also welcome to form teams to compete and walk the 5k.

The Gay 5k will be held at Warwick City Park on Stephen O’Connor Boulevard in Warwick, RI. The run/walk starts at 10am.  Pre-register online ($33) at http://racewire.com/participant_list.php?id=7693 or register on site starting at 8:30am ($35 adult, $15 youth). The first 500 registrants receive a tech shirt (built for running) and all participants receive a t-shirt and medal.

By joining our cause, you will be directly helping Options expand both the content of our publication and our audience-base itself. If you can’t participate in the 5k, please consider donating here: https://www.optionsri.org/donate-1, or sharing this message with those who may be interested in supporting RI’s LGBTQ community.
