Third Eye Blind Comes to Providence on September 1st!

Rhode Island Waterfront Events announces that San Francisco alternative pop-rock band Third Eye Blind has been added to the Providence Event Series presented by Rob Levine & Associates, The Heavy Hitter® line-up on Thursday, September 1st at 7:30 p.m. (gates open at 6:30 p.m.) at the ALEX AND ANI City Center in the heart of downtown Providence’s Kennedy Plaza.  The general admission tickets with no reserved seating are on sale and are $38 in advance and $48 the day of the show.  Tickets can be purchased online at www.riwaterfrontevents.com, by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000 or by visiting the RI Waterfront Events box office located at 4 Commercial Wharf in Newport.  Box office hours vary so please visit www.riwaterfrontevents.com for the latest updates. Tickets will also be available on the day-of the event at the ALEX AND ANI City Center box office located at 2 Kennedy Plaza, Downtown Providence, at the entrance of the venue.

Third Eye Blind first enjoyed commercial success in the late 1990s as the Band’s self-titled album as well as its second release, Blue, went platinum and several of their songs flirted with the top of the charts, including “Semi-Charmed Life”, “Jumper” and “How’s It Going to Be” which all hit the Top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 while “Never Let You Go” reached the Top 20.  “Semi Charmed Life” also earned the band a Billboard Music Award for “Modern Rock Track of the Year”.  Third Eye Blind’s fourth studio album, Ursa Major, was released in 2009 and topped the Billboard Rock Albums, Top Alternative Albums and Top Digital Albums charts.  All total, the group has sold more than 11 million records worldwide.  Third Eye Blind’s latest album release is entitled, Dopamine.

“We have been interested in securing Third Eye Blind for our concert series for years and finally the band’s touring schedule and our open dates lined up,” said Michele Maker Palmieri, President and CEO of Waterfront Productions.  “They will add some rock to our well-rounded entertainment schedule which also features country, reggae, Celtic and German music in the heart of downtown Providence with hopefully some more events to announce soon.”

The formation of the Providence Event Series presented by Rob Levine & Associates, the Heavy Hitter® was recently announced by Waterfront Productions/Rhode Island Waterfront Events, the City of Providence, the Providence Parks and Recreation Department and the ALEX AND ANI City Center.  The rest of the Providence Event Series line-up to date is as follows: Celtic Rock Festival featuring Eileen Ivers, Tartan Terrors, The Town Pants and Pendragon, Saturday, September 10th at 2:00 p.m. $25 advance/$35 day of event; Ziggy Marley, Friday, September 23rd at 5:30 p.m., $32.50 advance/$42.50 day of event; and the International Oktoberfest, the weekend of September 24th and 25th, Saturday, noon to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., $20 advance/$25 day of event and Sunday, noon to 5:00 p.m., $17 advance/$20 day of event. Weekender Passes are also available for $30 in advance or $40 day-of event.  Kids under 12 years of age are $12 with a paying adult on Saturday and free on Sunday.
