Providence tends to draw a significant theater crowd on Fridays and Saturdays, especially when the Providence Performing Arts Center is showing a popular musical.  Although the Trinity Reperatory Company in Providence, RI does not quite have the audience capacity of the PPAC, it does have just as good a reputation, and for good reason. The Trinity Rep’s next show will be Intimate Apparel, which is starting January 30th and running through March 2nd. This award-winning play follows the trials of a young seamstress in early 20th century New York City. This is Intimate Apparel’s debut Rhode Island performance.
Coming in February is Oliver!, the classic musical, follows the adventures of Oliver Twist, a workhouse orphan in Victorian London. Oliver! will be running from February 20th through March 30th.

The Trinity Reperatory Company in Providence, RI features more than just theatrical performances, however. On January 25th, the Trinity Rep will be hosting Red White and Groove, an annual party and fundraiser for the theater that will feature live music, food, dancing, and a wine-tasting. The music will be performed by Superchief Trio, and Providence’s own Bottles Fine Wine will be supplying wine pairings and tastings for the event.

For children interested in acting, Trinity Rep hosts the Young Actor’s Studio, which offers a variety of different lesson options. These classes not only teach acting, but introduce children to screenwriting and improvisation. Classes are available for children ages K-12.
