January 23 Through January 25^{th…So Much to Do!}

We’ve had a spate of “warmer” weather the last week, and while the weather will be hovering in the 30s all weekend, that’s no excuse to stay in. Here’s a quick look at some of the activities and events being held this weekend, from Friday the 23^rd through Sunday the 25^th.

At the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, there will be men’s basketball on Friday, with the Friars facing off against Xavier, and on Saturday the Bruins will be playing the Manchester Monarchs. While Linkin Park was supposed to be playing on Sunday, the concert has been cancelled due to injury. On Friday and Saturday, Boston comedian Orlando Baxter will be performing an 18+ show at the Comedy Connection. The Comedy Connection is located at 39 Warren Avenue in East Providence, and tickets are $15. Learn more, or purchase tickets, at www.ricomedyconnection.com.

This weekend will also see the Boat Show returning to the Providence Convention Center. Tickets are $12 for a single day, and kids under twelve are admitted for free with an adult. The Convention Center is located at One Sabin Street in Providence. Learn more at www.riconvention.com.

 Friday through Sunday, the Wilbury Theater Group will be performing Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, the classic 1960s dramatic comedy. The play will be performed at the Southside Cultural Center, located at 393 Broad Street in Providence. Learn more at thewilburygroup.org.

And on Friday, the Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown will be hosting a public stargazing night starting at 6:00 PM. This event is open to the public, free of charge. The Frosty Drew Nature Center and Observatory is located at 61 Park Lane in Charlestown. Learn more about the observatory here.
