Weekend Fun!
Here’s a quick look at some of the events taking place this weekend, from Friday the 28th through Sunday
the 30th.
On top of the bustle of Black Friday, there’s plenty of more relaxing events taking place on the 28th. Grammy-winning folk rock band America will be performing at Twin River Casino in an all-ages event. Learn more at www.twinriver.com.
On Friday through Sunday, there is the 22nd Annual Christmas in the Valley event. This holiday show and craft market will feature a raffle, food, drink, live music, and a visit from Santa on Sunday. If you want to do some shopping on Black Friday but want to avoid the malls, check out the Holiday Art and Boutique Show in Cranston. Hosted in Fine Art at Chapel View, and will feature artisanly crafted jewelry, furniture, clothing, pottery, glassware, and more. Learn more at www.fineartatchapelview.com.
On Saturday the 29th, the Stadium Theatre Christmas Spectacular will be held at the Stadium Theatre in Woonsocket. It will feature a live big band, dancing, and a live nativity. Learn more at www.stadiumtheatre.com.
Saturday will also feature the final WaterFire. WaterFire starts at 4:17 PM, about fifteen minutes before sunset. Learn more about WaterFire at waterfire.org.
The Providence Children’s Museum will be holding an event called “Boats Afloat,” from 11:00-2:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Kids will design and race paddle boats. The only cost is admission to the museum. Learn more at childrenmuseum.org.
On Saturday, the “Santa’s Arrival” event will be held at Roger Williams Park Zoo, featuring the grand arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Claus, which will be followed by a holiday parade through the zoo. Click here for more!
