Here’s a quick look at some of the events happening around Rhode Island this upcoming weekend, from Friday, December 5th through Sunday, December 7th.

On Friday, stand-up comedian and Daily Show alum Demitri Martin will be performing at the Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium on Park Street in Providence. Tickets are $38, and the show starts at 8:00 PM. To learn more, visit the Vet’s website at www.vmari.com.

The Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence has three events taking place this weekend. On Friday, the Providence Bruins will be playing the Albany Devils. On Saturday, Christian bands Casting Crowns, Mandisa, and the Sidewalk Prophets will be performing. And, on Sunday, the Bruins will be playing the Portland Pirates. The fifth, sixth, and seventh will see the first three days of the Foundry Artist’s Holiday Show, which will be held at the Pawtucket Armory at 172 Exchange Street in Pawtucket. On Saturday the 6th, you can visit the 44th annual Bowen’s Wharf Christmas Tree Lighting in Newport. In addition to the tree lighting, there will also be Christmas Carols and a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Frosty the Snowman. Learn more at www.bowenswharf.com.
