Your RI Labor Day Weekend Guide from RI Blogger!

Bittersweet, the unofficial adios to summer comes in the form of a three day weekend.  Although summer may be slipping by, there is no shortage of fun to be had this three day weekend!  Here are a few ideas to make your weekend memorable:

The Rhythm and Roots Festival will start on Friday and keep rocking all the way through Sunday.  Ninigret will be alive with the sounds of Cajun, Zydeco, Blues and more!  Learn more here.

The General Stanton Flea Market–  Just a hop, skip and a jump from Ninigret…the place where treasures await you! The Flea Market is open all three days, so be sure to stop on by and find a treasure or two.  More details here!

Wickford Harbor Lights will be illuminated on Friday, September 2nd.  Wickford shops will be OPEN and ready for business till 9pm! Shayna’s place will be Open with ice cream and treats. The local restaurants will be offering specials all evening.  There will be activities for kids, Del’s Carriage Rides, bands, artists and more!  Learn more here.

WaterFire!  Sunday, September 4th will be a full lighting sponsored by the Providence Tourism Council.  Sunset is at 7:15pm and this evening will feature the beautiful Argentine Tango!  Click here for more details.  In addition, the hotels in the area will be offering special packages, so you can make a “staycation” of it!
